It is not clear to us at this time exactly who these women represent. Often the Bible uses a woman to represent a group of people, such as a wife representing the church in Ephesians 5:25-27. The woman in Revelation 12 appears to represent a gody group of people (perhaps the church or perhaps a believing remnant of Israel), and the one in Revelation 17 an ungodly group (perhaps a false church). To definitively identify these women with a specific group that is present on the earth today is beyond what we are willing to do.
