Question:
Your quote 'This passage has nothing to do with God becoming man' further confuses me. Verse 5 clearly says that Jesus 'being in the form of God'... then in in verse 6, 'But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men.' Is this not saying God becoming in the likeness of men??? Form of God taking the form of servant (man)?
Answer:
The verse you quoted does not say 'becoming in the form of God.' It says 'BEING in the form of God.' Again, the entire passage is about a man who demonstrated how we should live by humbling Himself and acting like a servant, even though He was the King of kings robed in flesh.
