How do I recognize an anointed preacher?

Question:
How can you tell if a preacher is an anointed preacher called by God? What does anointing mean? If a preacher is not jumping, slinging his arms, speaking loudly, etc., does that mean he is NOT an anointed preacher?
Answer:
Anointing has nothing to do with volume or physical activity (although it can manifest that way at times). Anointing is the Spirit of God speaking and working through a human being. True anointing will always operate in harmony with the attributes of God's Spirit. Jesus said that the true prophets will be known by their fruit (Matthew 7:15-20). This speaks of the fruit of the Spirit, which is a description of the Spirit's attributes (see Galatians 5:22-23). It is difficult to tell who is a truly anointed preacher and who is just a dynamic speaker when can you only observe men from a distance. We need to observe how men conduct themselves when they are not behind a pulpit. We also encourage you to read our article 'The Coming of False Christs' found on Shelf 9 of the Apostolic Free Library.
