Answer: |
Maher-shalal-hashbaz is thought to be the second son of Isaiah, who was given as a sign of the impending destruction of Assyria for attacking God's people. This unusual name means 'hasten to the prey.' In Isaiah 8:3 God tells the prophet, 'Call his name Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz; for before the child shall have knowledge to cry 'My father' and 'My mother,' the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria will be taken away before the king of Assyria.'
