Question:
If a man and a woman both have long hair and both cut one inch off the length, the woman's hair is then short, but the man's hair is still long. Thank you.
Answer:
From a biblical standpoint, long hair on a women is hair that is neither cut nor shaved. It is intended to serve as a covering (1 Corinthians 11:6). Long hair on a man is hair that covers, whether is has been cut or not. It is dishonorable for a man to cover his head with hair hanging down from it(1 Corinthians 11:7).
Furthermore, God intended from the beginning that there be a clear distinction between men and women and hair length is one of the ways this distinction is made. To fail to observe this principle of God's Word is to be a follower of the fads and fashions of this modern godless world.
