Questions about when the kingdom of God would come have been around for a long time. In Luke 17:20-21 the Bible says, Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, 'The kingdom of God does not come with observation; 21 nor will they say,'See here!' or 'See there!' For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.' In Matthew 12:28 Jesus said, 'But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.' Clearly the internal kingdom of God (Jesus ruling within us) arrived when the Spirit was poured out on Pentecost. But the Bible has many other verses that speak of a kingdom that is yet to come. For example, 2 Peter 1:10-11 says, 'Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; 11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.' Only those who have the kingdom of God within them will enter the everlasting kingdom.
