Question: In 2 Corinthians 12:2 Paul wrote, 'I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.' Who is this man in Christ, and where is this paradise? Is this were the thief of the cross was going?

Answer: The Bible does not tell us who this man was. Some believe it was Paul himself. This Paradise is equated with the third heaven. The first heaven is the place where the birds fly. It can only be seen by day. The second heaven is the place where the stars shine. It can only be seen by night. The third heaven is the place where God dwells. It can only be seen by faith. We would tend to believe that this is the same Paradise Jesus spoke of to the thief on the cross.
