How can the Father love the Son?

Question:
If God is one and Jesus is the God incarnate, how can the Father love the Son and vice versa as stated in John 17:24 and 14:31?
Answer:
When we speak of the Father and the Son, we can make a distinction between then, but we must understand the Son is the human manifestation of the Father Himself. He who has seen the Son has seen the Father. The Son is the image of the invisible Father. Therefore, we can also say that the Father and the Son are one.
The biblical concept of love has to do with living in loyal connectedness. The verses you have cited are simply expressing this idea, that there was no disharmony between the Father and His humanity. As Jesus walked the earth, He was at all times fully connected with and in perfect submission to the Spirit.
