What is a pastor's authority in my home?

Question:
If a woman with a husband in church (children too) go to what I'd say is the traditionally structured church, what authority does the person called 'pastor' have in her and their lives? When I think of headship I think of a woman's head as being her husband but at church the other day someone spoke and said that this pastor was the head of the church. Maybe he meant it different than what I interpreted it to mean.
Answer:
From the beginning of time there has been a divinely established order. Paul spelled it out plainly in 1 Corinthians 11:3 where he wrote, 'But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.' This verse establishes man as the head of his wife and family, not a pastor. Pastors are leaders of local assemblies, but they are to lead as servants and shepherds, not as heads. Jesus alone is the Head of the Church (Colossians 1:18).
