Question: The Jews believe that GOD is one but they will never accept that GOD manifest Himself as a human. Yet when they pray, they will call on the GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob which is addressed to Jehovah. Trinitarians believe in JESUS, but they also believe that Jesus is another person in the GODHEAD, co-equal to JEHOVAH the God of the Jews. Which of these is nearer to the heart of GOD, Jews or trinitarians? Or are they both unsaved?

Answer: 1 John 5:20 says, 'And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.' To have eternal life, a person must know the true God. We can have this knowledge by entering into His Son, that is, His human manifestation. This is done by repentance, faith, and baptism in the name of Jesus. It is confirmed by the gift of the Holy Spirit. If a person has not come to the true God through this new birth experience (John 3:5; Acts 2:38), he does not have eternal life. This is what John the apostle has written. In the end it will not matter who was close to the truth and who was far away from it. Close doesn't count with God.
