Who died on the cross?

Question:
Oneness believers say that Jesus is GOD. So in that case, who died on the cross, GOD or man?
Answer:
Jesus Christ is the one supreme God, but He is more than that: He is the one Supreme God manifested in the flesh. During the days of His flesh, He was both eternal Spirit and mortal humanity. It was the humanity that died on the cross, not the eternal Spirit. Today Jesus Christ continues to be the one supreme God, only He is now eternal Spirit and immortal humanity. As He said, 'I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen' (Revelation 1:18). This is also our hope: to one day be alive forevermore!
