Question: Where was God before creation?

Answer: Before Genesis 1:1, God was planning. 1 Peter 1:19-20 tells us that before the creation He planned the Christ; that is, He planned to become a Man. This actually happened when the Child was born of the virgin in Bethlehem: the plan became flesh and dwelt among us, God was manifested in humanity.

Ephesians 1:3-6 tells us that before the creation, God planned the Church; that is, He planned how He would obtain for Himself a body of holy people who would be committed to Him in love. This body would become His bride as described in Ephesians 5:25-27.

Finally, Titus 1:1-3 tells us that before the creation, God planned eternal life and promised it to both His Christ and His bride. What a hope we have! How wonderful to know that we can participate in something that God planned out before He ever created the first atomic particle and which He has ordained will continue on throughout eternity!
