Just because a person tithes and gives offerings does not mean he is handling his finances properly. Some people insist on living at a lifestyle that is higher than what their income warrants. This often results in the accumulation of a lot of unnecessary debt. But even if a person is living pay check to pay check, at least he is keeping his head above water. The Bible does not promise that everyone who tithes and gives will get rich. We tithe because it is right, not to get rich.
There are many reasons why people struggle financially. But let us be careful to place the blame squarely where it lies. If we are constantly struggling and unable to get ahead, it is not God's fault, it is our's. We may need to seek help in better organizing our finances.
