The issue is, was he living for God when he passed away? The other issue is, will you be living for God when you pass away? We are sure that the saved will be reunited in eternity. But we have no way of knowing whether any particular individual is saved or not. The Bible says, 'Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: The Lord knows those who are His, and, Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity' (2 Timothy 2:19). We don't know who is the Lord's, but the Lord does.
