Question: When do you have to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ?

Answer: A person should be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ immediately upon repenting and believing (see Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16). For example: So they said,'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.' Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized (Acts 16:31-33). If a person receives the gift of the Holy Spirit, he should immediately be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. For example: Then Peter answered, 'Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?' And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord (Acts 10:46-48).
