Question: I have neither felt anything which I can say was from an external source. How can I know definitely that I am going to a true Christian church, for many false prophets shall arise in my name saying I am He, deceiving many ( Christ ).

Answer: The initial evidence that a person has received the Holy Spirit is speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (Acts 2:1-4; Acts 10:44-46; Acts 19:1-6).

In 1 John 4:6, the apostle tells us that we can identify the 'spirit of truth' and the 'spirit of error' by comparing what is being spoken with what has already been written by the apostles. In other words, we are each responsible to study the Bible and know what it says. We suggest that you read the articles we have posted in the Apostolic Free Library on the Doctrine shelf. See if our teachings line up with the Scriptures. We believe they do. If you find that you are in agreement with these teachings, then we will do our best to help you find an assembly in your area that teaches these same doctrines.
