Was this the voice of God?

Question: I recently, through much prayer and consideration, decided to help a home mission work located in my home town. When I talked to the pastor of the church I attend, he advised I had not heard the voice of God, or His will. Will God not direct his licensed ministers or his saints without the consent of a pastor? I thought I knew the promptings of God but now have questions.
Answer: We do believe that God speaks to people, but we also believe He will confirm missions such as this through local leadership. We encourage you to continue praying. Perhaps the timing is not right. If this is the Lord, He will make the way.
