Question: Hello. I submitted a question a very long time ago and I never received an answer. It was about financial struggles and I really need an Apostolic perspective as I have prayed about this since last year and nothing has changed. Is it acceptable to take out loans and have an arranged bank overdraft limit if you are a Christian? Thanks

Answer: The question about taking out a loan does not lend itself to a right or wrong answer. We would need to know more details about the circumstances. We can say this: 1) God will provide for us if we make Him number one in our lives(Matthew 6:31-33); 2) God expects us to be wise and frugal with our money and to live within our means (Proverbs 22:1-2); 3) God will help people straighten out their financial problems if they will seek wise counsel and follow what they learn (Proverbs 19:20; 20:5); 4) Borrowing money can be a mean to an end in certain circumstances, but it is never the long-term solution.
