Question:
Regarding the holidays, would the celebration of these (known) pagan practices be considered a salvation issue? Or does it fall into the category of Romans 14:6?
Answer:
Salvation is based on obedience to the gospel, not whether or not we particpate in a holiday, irrespective of the origin of the holiday. Once we are saved, however, God expects us to have an interest in glorifying Him in all that we say and do. This is certainly a high standard to live by and requires us to be careful how we use our time. We should therefore be very careful what associations we allow in our lives which would diminish our witness and prevent us friom glorfying God. Obviously some of the holidays would fall into this category.
