Question:
In Daniel 3:25, who is the fourth man walking in the furnace who appears to be the Son of Man?
Answer:
Daniel actually said that the fourth man looked like the Son of God (not the Son of Man). In Old Testament days, this term was used to refer to angels and to gods who appeared in human form. The Bible does not tell us explicitly who this fourth man was, but certainly he is intended to be a representation of Jesus is His role as Savior. The message of the story is that even in times of great distress, God is with us.
