Question:
I heard a commentary on a book and a movie called, 'Eat Love Pray.' I don't know how many marriages were ended, but the radio announcer said that women were divorcing their husbands after reading the book. Does this fall under the end times category of Matthew 24:38 'For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,' If not, what does marrying and giving in marriage mean when it comes to end times?
Answer:
In a marriage, the man marries while the woman is given in marriage, usually by her father. When Jesus said that people would be marrying and giving in marriage, He just meant that life would be going on as usual right up to the day of His coming. This verse has nothing to do with divorce.
