Question:
There is much division as to whether or not apostles and prophets died out with the first century church. It seems that, just as the spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians are still for the church, so too are these ministerial functions. Are there modern day apostles and prophets, and if so, how do we define their functions within the body of Christ?
Answer:
Yes, there are definitely modern-day apostles and prophets. As for the ways in which they function, there is too much to say to try to say it on this Q and A board. We hope to add an article on this topic to this website in the near future. We suggest you consider joining the Glorious Church Network where you will find like-minded brothers with whom you can discuss this in more detail.
