Am I out of touch?

Question:
Am I out of touch with the modern era, or is it still wrong for two unmarried people to take an overnight trip, even if they say no 'hanky panky' is going on? These are two people that are active in the local assembly.
Answer:
The Bible says, 'Do not let your good be spoken of as evil' and 'Abstain from all appearance of evil' (Romans 14:16; 1 Thessalonians 5:22). Based on these two verses alone, we would agree that an unmarried couple should not be going off together alone, whether it's overnight or not. Sadly some Christian couples put their own pleasure and enjoyment ahead of the interests of the kingdom of God.
