Question: I am going through some problems right now, and I have decided that there is nothing I can do but to give it to God, but I still pray about these problems, even though I have 'given them up'...does this mean that I havent totally given them up? Is it wrong to give your problems to Jesus, but still pray about them? I KNOW He has them in His hands, and He will take care of them on HIS time, but I still pray about them.

Answer: In Luke 18:1-7 Jesus said that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, saying: 'There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, 'Get justice for me from my adversary.' And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, 'Though I do not fear God nor regard man, yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.' ' Then the Lord said, 'Hear what the unjust judge said. And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?'

Jesus said, 'He who asks shall receive.' This means iterally, 'He who keeps on asking shall receive.' Sometimes God does not answer right away just to see if we will persist in prayer. Our counsel to you is, keep on asking!
