Question: Is it biblical for a church body to vote out a pastor because they feel he isn't living up to his responsibility as a pastor. I have a very close friend and she said they are going to do this very soon and I didn't know if it was part of the bilaws of the UPC or even if it is biblical?

Answer: Every church has its own bylaws. Some allow the members to vote out the pastor. This is a congregational form of church government. We consider the entire concept of having one pastor who serves at the pleasure of the members to be unbiblical.
