Only people who have received the gift of the Holy Spirit can have a spiritual gift. The Bible does not speak of a 'gift of discernment.' What is does speak of is the gift of 'discerning of spirits' (see 1 Corinthians 12:10). This is the ability to differentiate between God's Spirit, human spirits, and demonic spirits.
