Question:
My pastor believes that other oneness denominations are not saved because they allow sin into their lives. Such as believing in Christmas, allowing women to wear spilts in skirts, wedding bands, wearing watches, etc. Is he right for believing this way or is it just being judgmental? Thanks.
Answer:
We cannot get inside your pastor's heart and determine whether or not he is being judgmental. It seems to us that you need to discuss these issues with him, not us. He is your spiritual overseer, not us. I can tell you this, however; it is not unusual to have people in our assembly who do not do everything we teach. To think that a national organization can control everything that people do or don't do seems to me to be expecting too much. I can also tell you that it is 'not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit' (Titus 3:5).
