Question:
1 Timothy 3:4 says that a bishop/elder/pastor must manage his own family well and have children who are submissive and respectful in every way. If an elder's family lives contrary to what is mentioned above, can he remain as an elder?
Answer:
He can remain an elder, but he probably shouldn't. It would be up to the other elders to evaluate the situation and decide what needs to be done. The best scenario would be for the elder to recognize he has problems in his home and offer to step down voluntarily.
