Question: I am 49 years old and I was baptized in a Baptist church at the age of nine. I am not sure, however I beleive that the pastor baptized me in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, in Jesus name, amen. I believe that is what was said. I have recently started going to an apotsolic church. I honestly feel at home and complete, however I have had either concerns or convictions about being re-baptized, especially since they have made me very aware of the importance of being baptized in Jesus Christ's Name. If you could share any light on reasons why people should be re-baptized, I would greatly appreciate it.

Answer: We have one example in the Bible where 12 men were re-baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. They had previously been baptized by John the Baptist (Acts 19:1-6). We believe it is absolutely necessary that a person be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins. Your Baptist did not baptize you for this purpose, because he believes your sins are forgiven immediately upon your profession of faith. We also believe that the person doing the baptizing must know God in truth. Your Baptist pastor believes that God is three persons, which is not the truth. For these reasons we believe you should be baptized at your new apostolic church as soon as possible.
