Question: My pastor lost his wife of 36 years 11 months ago. She was ill for quite a while, but remained a vital part of the ministry until the day of her departure to glory. He began talking to another woman in 8 months and has announced their upcoming nuptuals. He strongly advises six monthe to a year of counseling for the church members. What is the protocol for pastors, especially after such a short time after the loss. Do they not have to adhere to their own church doctrine?

Answer: Your pastor obviously has a lot of experience as a married man. We therefore think you should not concern yourself with his decision to remarry. Just be glad that he has found himself a new companion and rejoice with him.
