Question:
Why does God allow natural disasters, i.e. earthquakes, hurricanes, and tsunamis? I know God is not behind these things but can He prevent it? If yes, why God still allows these catastrophes to happen?
Answer:
Isaiah 26:9 says, 'For when Your judgments are in the earth,
the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.' God allows terrible natural disasters in order to humble man and bring him to repentance. His objective is that men would learn to live righteously.
