Question: One of the members of our youth department asked: What will happen to the unborn or aborted babies, whether it be intentional or accidental? Does the Bible say anything about this?

Answer: Deuteronomy 29:29 says, 'The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.' This verse expresses a very important concept that we would all be wise to embrace. It tells us that God has not given us all the answers, at least not yet. The bottem line is this: we do not need to know what happens to babies who die before being born, therefore God has not told us. Sure, plenty of people say they all go to heaven to be with Jesus, but that's just speculation. Jesus Himself said that unless a person is born again he cannot enter the kingdom of heaven, and unborn babies are not born again (John 3:3-5). So we suggest that rather than speculate on matters that God has not revealed to us, it is better to simply trust in the goodness and mercy of our loving Savior.
