Question:
My friend said her pastor stated it is ok to go to the bar, how else will you reach the lost? She also stated her church gets the spirit they get crazy and cry. How would you reply? I was going to tell her if you have the spirit of God, you would feel conviction and would not be in the bar. I don't want to upset her. But I did say, that tells me two things, he don't have the spirit of God and you can't mix light with darkness.
Answer:
I don't think you can say with absolute certainly that the Spirit of God would never lead someone into a bar to witness to people or to preach the gospel. Of course believers should not needlessly expose themselves to temptation, but I can promise you that I could go into a bar and not be tempted in any way to partake of an alcoholic beverage. I have no attraction to such stuff. On the other hand, we must be careful that we do not allow our good to be spoken of as evil. I don't think I would want to be seen walking out of a bar.
