Question: What are the steps to salvation, how are we saved? Also explain Romans 10:9-10.

Answer: We don't think it is particularly helpful to think of salvation in terms of steps. Salvation is a matter of becoming connectd to God through a spiritual new birth. Jesus described this is John 3:5 as a brith of water and the Spirit. In the book of Acts, when Peter was asked what to do, he answered, 'Repent, and let every one of you be baptized (water) in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (Spirit)' (Acts 2:38). If you have never repented, then we say you should repent. If you have never been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission (forgiveness) of sins, then we say be baptized. If you have never received the gift of the Holy Spirit, then we say receive. Romans 10 was written to those who had already repnted and been baptized (see Romans 6:1-4).
Paul was encouraging them to express their faith outwardly.
