Is it Jesus or Yeshua?

Question:
I have been using the name of Jesus for years. Some say we should use the Hebrew name Yeshua. I don't have a problem with that, the problem I have is some Christians now are saying that the name of Jesus comes from the greek god Zeus. Is that true or false?
Answer:
That is false. The name Jesus is the anglicized form of the Greek name Iesous, which is the name as it appears in the original Greek version of the New Testament. The name Iesous is the equivalent of the Hebrew name Yeshua, which means Yahweh is salvation. The word 'diety' has its origin in the name Zeus, which is actually Dias in Greek.
We believe that God understands all languages, so to call upon Him using the name Yeshua would be appropriate for those who speak Hebrew. For those who speak Greek, they may call Him Iesous. For those of us who speak English, we may call Him Jesus. All the same name, simply different languages.
