Are women allowed to be pastors?

Question:
From a biblical standpoint, are women supposed to be pastors or preachers?
Answer:
Pastors and preachers are two different ministries. We would say that a woman can be preacher as long as she does not usurp authority over a man. In fact, we believe that all believers are called to be preachers of the gospel. Serving as a pastor is an entirely different matter, however, since pastors oversee a local assembly. We cannot find any biblical support for women serving as pastors. For a detailed explaination of our position, please read our article called 'The Role of Women in the Local Assembly' found on Shelf 4 of the Apostolic Free Library on this website.
