Should believers hoard food and water?

Question:
I was just curious if the saints should hoard food and water to be prepared in case of emergency? I know God will supply our every need, but God helps us to help ourselves. Should we do nothing or at least try to survive should the Lord tarry?
Answer:
We believe it is wise for every family to store up or have guaranteed access to somewhere between three and six months worth of food and water in the event of an emergency. This is only prudent. We would add that the Lord has already stated clearly that He will not tarry but has appointed a day in which He will judge the world (see Hebrews 10:37 and Acts 17:31).
