Doesn't the Sonship end?

Question:
Isn’t the fulfillment of the role of the Son and ending of the Son the same thing? Basically, the Son has an end?
Answer:
No. To say that 'the Son has an end' suggests that the Son of God ceases to exist. This is impossible, since Jesus Himself said without any equivocation: 'I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen' (Revelation 1:18). When we say that the role of the Son ends or reaches its fulfillment, we mean that He will no longer be serving in His mediatorial role as the One who brings man to God and unites God and man together. He will then simply serve as the eternal manifestation of God to His creation.
