Breaking a fast before it ended?

Question:
Is it a sin to break a fast prematurely, and how can I redeem myself?
Answer:
The simple way to redeem yourself is to re-commit to a specific time of fasting. In other words, if you said you would fast for three days but you broke it after two days, then commit yourself again to fasting for three days. That's all you need to do. Don't beat yourself up, just fast again.
