Is there an innocent party?

Question:
Do you believe in the Innocent Party doctrine, meaning if one spouse cheats on the other or does you wrong, then you have the right to divorce. And to also remarry someone else even if your first spouse is still alive.
Answer:
Absolutely not. The Bible does not teach such a thing. While I would agree that on occasion there actually is an innocent party, most of the time there is not. Just because one party does wrong does not necessarily mean the other party is innocent or did not contribute in some way to the situation.
