Question:
In Corinthians 11 4, what does it mean, 'Every man praying or prophesying having his head covered, dishonereth his head?' Does this mean a hat or he should be bald? Also in verse 5 it speaks of the woman's head uncovered is so who is right?
Answer:
1 Corinthians 11:15 tells us that the covering is freely growing hair. Verse 4 is saying that a man should not have freely growing hair, which means he should keep it cut. That's what it means to have his head uncovered. Verse 5 is saying that a woman should have freely growing hair, which means she should not cut her hair. She should allow it to grow freely to whatever length God determines. That's what it means to have her head covered.
