What happens to infants who die?

Question:
When infants or the very young die, do you believe they are saved?
Answer:
We believe that a person must repent and believe in Jesus Christ, be baptized in His name, and be filled with the Holy Spirit to be saved. We also believe that a human being cannot repent and believe until he is old enough to be aware that he has sinned. This means that we do not know what happens to children who die before they have reached that age. The Bible simply does not tell us, and we are unwilling to speculate. We accept this as one of those issues that we will just have to trust the Lord on. We do know that He is good and kind and is not a tormentor of innocent children. That is the best answer we can offer for your question.
