Why are people yelling at me?

Question:
I have had a few incidences where someone I don't know is yelling at me or yelling something to me or in the direction I am in. I was driving my children to get pizza and a group of teenagers was gathered on the street. One of them yelled out Jesus su*#s. Me and all my children were caught off guard and shocked. My youngest daughter asked, 'How did they know?' She meant how did they know we're trying to serve God. On another occassion we were enjoying ice cream on our way home and the beautiful view as the moon was out very big and bright and a car drives past and again a young gentleman sticks his head out an commences yelling toward our car. He may have just been having a good time? The last incident occurred just last week. I was driving home from work. I was on my way to pick up my children and I was waiting for the light to change. Three people (I need glasses so I can't see far) began yelling what are you looking at (in my direction). I was looking at the building they were standing at. I can't say for certain that they were yelling at me but the fact remains I was in the area where they were directing the yelling toward me. There have been other things but I guess I may be overly suspicious which is not a fruit of the spirit although I have a reason (not an excuse). Should I just assume I have been in the wrong place at the wrong times or I am I over reacting. I hate to tell anyone because of obvious reasons. What do you make of all this?
Answer:
It seems to us from what you have told us that you may be over-reacting. Christians are certainly subject to being persecuted for their faith, but the incidents you have described don't sound like real persecution. We suggest you be prayerful about this and just continue on in the Lord. He is watching over you.
