Question: What is the real meaning of the Apostolic Doctrine?

Answer: Acts 2:42 says that the original Christians 'continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine.' The apostolic doctrine is simply the teachings of the original apostles, who got their teachings directly from Jesus Christ Himself. Some of the doctrines included in what we now broadly refer to as apostolic doctrine include the doctrine of the Oneness of God (as opposed to the doctrine of the Trinity) and the new birth experience, which includes repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and the gift of the Holy Spirit with the sign of speaking in other tongues (John 3:5 and Acts 2:38).
