Question:
How do you feel about men that say they are preachers, but use smokeless tobacco? It has been said that the Bible does not mention it, so it must not be a sin. I need scriptures to prove that using snuff and chewing tobacco is wrong. Seascapes
Answer:
The Bible does not mention smoking cigarettes either, but I think most apostolic people would consider the practice a sin. We have no Scriptures to offer you. All we can say is that there are some things the Holy Spirit teaches without the Word. In our humble opinion, anyone who claims to be filled with the Spirit but continues using these substances for their own personal pleasure is not being led by the Spirit of God. The Bible does say that in the last days there will be believers who are 'lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God' (2 Timothy 3:4). To me such men would have no credibility as preachers of the Word.
