Question: I am 11 years old and I go to an apostolic church that believes that women should not wear pants. I really don't understand why I can't wear pants. Do you think that there is anything wrong with wearing pants?

Answer: We believe that women should not wear clothing that pertains to a man (Deuteronomy 22:5). To our way of thinking, pants are men's clothing and always have been until relatively recently. We prefer not to allow society's ever-changing fashions to govern the way we dress but the Word of God.

To us, the issue is not one of right or wrong, it is one of glorifying God. The way we dress is a simple way of showing whether we are a man or a women. This is an important element in God's plan to glorify Himself throughout the earth.

We are curious why you would write to us about this matter rather than discuss it with your parents or your spiritual leaders at church.
