Question: I've often heard people say that God has two wills: a divine will and a permissive will. How is this applied to a Spirit-filled believer?

Answer: God does not have two wills. He has reveled His will to us in His Word. Ephesians 5:17 says, 'Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.' God expects us to understand His will by seeking Him in prayer and studying His Word. As we discover His will for our lives, we are then to do it, whether we especially like it or not. To do the will of God is man's highest duty and privilege. 1 John 2:17 tells us that 'the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.' What a promise!
