Question:
What should a person do who has commited fornication and has a leadership position in church if she doesn't want to get married, or should she get married?
Answer:
In 1 Corinthians 7:8-9 Paul wrote, 'But I say to the unmarried and to the widows: It is good for them if they remain even as I am; but if they cannot exercise self-control, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.' This indicates that if you cannot contain yourself and avoid fornication, then you should marry. Having said this, we believe this is an issue that must be taken before the leadership of the local assembly. There are too many factors that we have no way of knowing about and assessing.
