Question: I believe in the oneness way. But I have been thinking lately what about all of those other Christian denomation. Even though the number of oneness believers is growing, what about those millions of Catholics, Baptists, Methodists, etc. who are baptized and recieved Christ but do not believe in the oneness way. Do you think that God will show them pity? Because if the only people who go to heaven are oneness believers, then that won't be very many people in heaven. Please help me understand this. Thanks and God bless.

Answer: In Matthew 7:14 Jesus stated, 'Narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.' There is only one gate and one way that leads to everlasting life. Jesus also said, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me' (John 14:6). The question is, what does it mean to come to God through Jesus Christ? What is the narrow gate that few are able to find?

We believe it is the plan set forth in Acts 2:38. We have written about this in great detail and encourage you to read the articles on the Doctrine shelf of the Apostolic Free Library on this web site.

Keep in mind that in contrast to the narrow and difficult way that leads to life, there is the wide gate and broad way that leads to destruction. This means that there are many ways that ultimately end up in destruction. But there is only one way that leads to life. You asked if God will show pity to those who have not believed in the oneness of God. We will allow Jesus to answer. In John 8:24 He said, 'If you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.' John 8:27 then explains, 'They did not understand that He spoke to them of the Father.' To us, this means that anyone who does not believe that Jesus is the Father Himself, manifested in the flesh, will die in their sins. The issue is not denominations; it is obedience to the truth. They have the same Bible we have!
