Question:
Tithe is the first ten percent of a person's increase, regardless of the medium of the increase.could you explain the increase with the word and the first ten percent. thank you. all so way was not money used in the old testament. for they had money.
Answer:
The word 'increase' means that which come to you. It is whatever is added materially to a person. Deuteronomy 26:12
speaks of setting aside 'the tithe of your increase.' Proverbs 3:9 says, 'Honor the LORD with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase.' 2 Chronicles 31:5 speaks of the 'abundance the firstfruits of grain and wine...' and says, 'And they brought in abundantly the tithe of everything.' The tithe (ten percent) is described as the firstfruits; therefore, the tithe is the first ten percent of all one's increase, regardless of whether it is cash or other material things. And frankly, how could it be anything else? God should come first in everything.
